Hello Everyone! Sometimes it's the small moments in hard times that end up helping us out the most. Often what helps us take the next step is the unexpected act of kindness shown to us by a stranger. Sometimes its that constant person in our life, be they family, friend teacher or random person at the bus stop. Other-times it's the discovery of a new song or artist. I encourage those in this group to just call out those who've helped you or someone you know along the way. Simple rules and guide lines - Please as you share be mindful of personal privacy concerns - Their name (as you called them) Who they are (Simple as old teacher or complex as 'cousin's former roommate's ex-girlfriends chiropractor') How they helped (as much or little detail as possible) A message you'd give them today : A sentence or two if you choose

I'll start Name : Ellen From Booktenders Who They Are: Former children's bookstore owner who had an almost supernatural knack for child authors. How they Helped : Through her small bookstore in Doylestown PA, Ellen encouraged not only generations of readers but through her often just limited interactions with a family would suggest books or authors that entertained and helped. My little brother could never sit still (I wasn't great myself) but within five minutes of being inside her store, she would hand him a book and he would be still as stone reading through it. I remember later that same day the little brother started to escalate about something and then calmed down. Mom asked - "what was that about" Little bro said "Well in that book, when so and so gets made he thought about glaciers and how slow they move... so I did that" That was her power, it seemed like help in the moment but it often went far deeper. A message I'd give them today: You were a treasure to me and my brother growing up. And I'll never forget buying an Animorph book the month before it was to come out.
