Squirrel Space Book Club

Welcome to the Golden Acorn Book Club - for those who like curling up with a book and a blanket. With winter right around the corner, we're cozying up with a good book and some hot cocoa.

This forum was created for all members to join in on a good book while meeting other Squirrel Space members— whether you’re unplugging for 30 minutes and diving into novel or learning about how to parent a neurodivergent child or looking up tips on emotional regulation, we are confident that the Squirrel Space bookclubu will have something for all to enjoy.

The Golden Acorn Bookclub is designed for Squirrels to:

• Make time for relaxation & reading - finding time to unwind while remaining unplugged

• Deepen and broaden into their hobbies and interests and express our unique interests with each other

• Learn and grow as people, parents, children, siblings, and friends about mental health, neurodivergence, and every-day well being

• Meet, socialize, and exchange ideas with other neurodivergent and neurodivergent allies

  
  

Here, we celebrate diversity in brains, families, and experiences. Our goal is to find golden acorns, gather them together, and share them with each other.

Group Rules

We read & share for fun & learning

This is a member-driven bookclub where Squirrels take turns selecting a new book each month, fiction or non-fiction, and then meet up to discuss, review the book, and share....but no spoilers on the acorn wall! We can create Whatapp or LI groups to gossip and chat about the book. While there is a LOT to learn about neurodiversity, we also encourage members to select fiction or non fiction novels or books related OR unrelated to neurodiversity.

Respect one another

Everyone has a different point of view and different beliefs, so please be respectful of others' perspectives - being kind and courteous at all times. Listen with empathy and honor the diversity of experiences within neurodivergent and neurotypical families.

Be respectful of others’ privacy

Being in this group depends on our trust of one another. Some discussions may be sensitive or contain sensitive information, so what’s said in the group should stay in the group. As this is a confidential, judgment-free space. Please do not share names, identifying details, or personal stories that aren’t yours to tell.

No sales or spam

No selling to or spamming other members is allowed in this group. Anyone who does so will be subject to immediate removal.

No harassment of any kind

Bullying, targeting, or attacking a member of this group is not allowed and will not be tolerated.
